Girls Basketball Roundup: Luneckas Leads West Branch Past Durant in Opener

Delaynie Luneckas came within a few blocks of a triple-double on Tuesday while leading West Branch to a 54-39 win over Durant in the season opener for the Bears in West Branch.
Luneckas had 21 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots as West Branch outscored the Wildcats 33-16 in the second half to overcome a two-point halftime deficit.
Freshman August Palmer added 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists and Kylie Pickett had 12 points and six rebounds for West Branch.
Avery Schultes and Sadie Smith each had four points while Alyse Klinkkammer had six assists and three steals for the Bears.
Durant dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
