Clear Creek Amana Senior Receiver Rosenberg Named First Team All-state by IPSWA

In his first two seasons of varsity football Harrison Rosenberg emerged as a reliable option in the Clear Creek Amana passing game catching a combined 39 passes for 586 yards and seven touchdowns.
As a senior Rosenberg cemented himself as one of the top pass catchers in the state.
On Tuesday the senior standout was recognized as just that.
Rosenberg was named to the Class 4A all-state first team by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association after a stellar season in which he ranked in the top 11 in 4A in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.
The first-team honors for Rosenberg highlighted a trio of Clear Creek Amana players to earn all-state honors as senior lineman Tommy Morlan was a second-team pick and senior linebacker Gage Freeman earned third-team honors.
Liberty High seniors Darius Willis-Newell and Max Beckman each were named to the 4A third team.
Rosenberg emerged as focal point of the Clear Creek Amana offense as a senior averaging 6.5 receptions and 85.5 yards per game while helping the Clippers to a 6-4 record and a spot in the 4A playoffs.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Rosenberg caught a career-high 46 passes (11th most in 4A) and his 855 receiving yards ranked third in Class 4A.
Rosenberg had a touchdown reception in eight games this season, including each of the final seven games and his 12 touchdown grabs ranked fourth in Class 4A.
The senior had at least four receptions and 60 yards receiving in seven games and had five games with at least 100 receiving yards.
Rosenberg caught two touchdown passes in four different games.
A two-way standout on the offensive and defensive lines for the Clippers, Morlan earned second-team honors as an offensive lineman for the Clippers.
The 5-foot-11, 260-pound senior helped Clear Creek Amana averaged 318 total yards and better than 27 points per game and also made 18.5 tackles and recovered a fumble.
A 5-11, 185-pound linebacker, Freeman earned third-team all-state honors after making a team-high 63 tackles including seven for loss and a sack.
Freeman recovered a fumble that he returned for a touchdown and also led the Clippers with 806 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns and was second on the team with 22 receptions for 310 yards and three scores.
Willis-Newell earned all-state honors for the first time for Liberty High being named to the 4A third team as a running back.
The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Willis-Newell rushed for 1,064 yards and 13 touchdowns cracking the 100-yard mark in each of the last four games and five of the final six.
In seven games against 4A competition Willis-Newell averaged 141 yards per game on 5.6 yards per carry and scored 13 touchdowns including a school-record 306 yards and four scores against Clear Creek Amana.
A 6-foot-3, 230-pound senior Beckman was one of the biggest reasons for the rushing success for Willis-Newell.
The senior earned third-team all-state as an offensive lineman after helping the Lightning rush for 143 yards per game.
