Clear Creek Amana Infielder Young Commits to Augustana University

For the second time this fall a Clear Creek Amana standout baseball player has settled on a future home.
Clear Creek Amana senior middle infielder Sam Young announced his commitment to Augustana University this week with a post on social media.
“I am blessed to announce my commitment to Augustana University,” Young wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to my family, friends, teammates and coaches for the support and guidance throughout the process. I’m very thankful for this opportunity and am excited to join the family.”
A four-year starter at Clear Creek Amana Young is coming of the best season of his prep career last summer.
Young hit .327 and ranked second on the team with 28 hits as a junior while leading the Clippers in runs (31) and walks (20).
As a junior Young also posted a 3.09 ERA in 34 innings while striking out 30 and walking eight.
Young has a career-high 21 RBI last season and posted a career-best .460 on-base percentage.
A full-time starter since his freshman season Young is a career 300 hitters with 64 walks and 45 strikeouts in his career and has scored 74 runs.
Augustana University is NCAA Division II and a member of the Northern Sun Athletic Conference.
The Vikings went 36-13 last season and won the 2018 Division II national title.
