Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Gabby Skopec
West High graduate and current Iowa junior Gabby Skopec finished 86th at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Blue/White Golf Course in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Skopec helped Iowa to a 12th place team finish clocking a time of 22:39.8 in the six-kilometer race.
Jack Kinzer
Liberty High graduate and current Wartburg freshman Jack Kinzer placed 27th overall at the American Rivers Conference Cross Country championship on Saturday at Luther College in Decorah.
Wartburg had seven runners finish in the top 15 and won the team title with 20 points. Kinzer finished the eight-kilometer race in 26:27.3.
Tom Adolph
West High graduate and current Central College senior Tom Adolph had five tackles including 2.5 tackles for loss in a 76-13 win over Luther on Saturday in Decorah.
A senior defensive lineman, the 5-foot-11, 260-pound Adolph has 16 tackles, including four for loss and a sack this season while helping Central to an 8-0 record.
