Regina Records Fifth Consecutive Top-eight Finish at State Cross Country Meet

Regina recorded a fifth consecutive top-eight finish at the state cross country meet on Saturday placing sixth in the Class 1A meet at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
The Regals racked up 204 team points on Saturday to finish sixth a year after finishing third at the Class 1A state meet.
South Winneshiek won the team title with 104 points followed by Logan-Magnolia with 121 and Fort Dodge St. Edmond with 167.
Regina finished 15 points in front of seventh-place Sumner-Fredericksburg.
Junior Mya Whitaker placed 29th overall in a time of 21:11.45 to lead Regina while senior Natalie Franklin finished 38th overall in a time of 21:23.72.
Josie Pursley was 88th overall and Allison Hein was 94 overall for the Regals.
Calamus-Wheatland freshman Noelle Steines won the individual title in a Class 1A record time of 18:20.91 while Turkey Valley senior Jalyssa Blazek was runner-up in a time of 18:36.25.
