West High Senior Libero Kouba Commits to New Hampshire

One of the top defensive players in the state has made plans for her volleyball future.
West High senior back row specialist Katherine Kouba announced her verbal commitment to the University of New Hampshire on Wednesday with a post on social media.
“I am so blessed and excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career playing division 1 volleyball at the University of New Hampshire,” Kouba wrote on Twitter. “To all my family, friends, teammates and coaches I cannot thank you enough for your support.”
A four-year starter, Kouba has led West High in digs every year of her prep career while racking up 1,293 career digs.
Kouba ranked third in Class 5A averaging 4.7 digs per set last season and has matched that number this fall as a senior averaging 4.7 digs per set, good for seventh best in 5A.
The 5-foot-7 Kouba has been at her best this season helping West High to a 16-15 record and No. 14 ranking in Class 5A.
In addition to her team-high 388 digs Kouba ranks second on the team with 32 ace serves this season.
Already a two-time Mississippi Valley Conference all-division honoree Kouba has averaged nearly 4.1 digs per set in her career.
Located in Durham, New Hampshire the University of New Hampshire is a member of the American East Conference.
The Wildcats are 11-9 this season.
