Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Ali Tauchen
West High graduate and current Missouri Western senior Ali Tauchen set the all-time school record for career points and the modern record for career kills for the Griffons earlier this month.
Tauchen became the all-time leader in career points with 1,495, surpassing the mark for combined kills, aces and blocks of 1,410.5.
Tauchen also holds the program record for kills during the modern 25-point rally scoring era career kills leader with 1,210.
Dillon Doyle
West High graduate and current Baylor junior linebacker Dillon Doyle made history on Saturday becoming the first Baylor player to record a sack, a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the same game.
Doyle had four tackles and a sack on defense and caught a 2-yard touchdown pass and also scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in a 38-24 win over BYU.
Jared Brinkman
Former Regina all-stater and current Northern Iowa senior defensive tackle Jared Brinkman had a huge day on Saturday against South Dakota.
Brinkman had 14 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack in a 34-21 loss to the Coyotes.
On the season the 6-foot-2, 290-pound Brinkman ranks seventh on the team with 32 tackles including four for loss and two sacks.
