Girls Cross Country Roundup: Liberty High Senior Keeney Wins Another MVC Divisional Title

Ashley Keeney won her second conference title in seven days on Thursday claiming the individual title at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi divisional meet at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls.
Keeney won the MVC Super Meet title last Thursday in Waterloo and completed the conference sweep on Thursday when she won the Mississippi Divisional crown in a time of 18:39.8.
It was the third divisional title for the Liberty High senior standout and helped the Lightning to a fourth-place team finish with 94 points.
Class 4A sixth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie won the team title with 54 points while No. 11 Linn-Mar was second with 68 and No. 13 City High was third with 73.
Iris Wedemeyer placed fifth in a time of 19:45.81 to lead three City High runners that finished in the top 10.
Rowan Boulter was eighth in 19:54.52 while freshman Ani Wedemeyer was ninth in 20:02.52.
Tatum Frazier finished 24th for City High in 21:19.76 and Lucy Corbin was 27th in 21:35.31.
Sophomore Cori Mac placed seventh for Liberty High in 19:51.79 while Hannah Ramsey was 25th in 21:25.36 and Madelyn Johnson was 26th in a time of 21:25.99.
