Boys Cross Country Roundup: Washburn, Little Hawks Win Titles at MVC Mississippi Divisional Meet

City High swept the titles at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Divisional meet with junior Ford Washburn taking the individual crown to lead the Little Hawks to the team title.
Washburn won the individual title in a time of 16:03.5 to help Class 4A third-ranked City High win the team title with 33 points at Birdsall Park in Cedar Falls.
Sixth-ranked Cedar Falls was runner-up with 50 points followed by No. 10 Cedar Rapids Prairie, No. 17 Linn-Mar with 107 and No. 14 Liberty High with 110.
City High had five runners finish in the top 11 highlighted by the individual title from Washburn.
Ammon Smith was fifth in 16:36.38 followed by Noah Carey in seventh in a time of 16:41.92.
Elliot Dunnwald was ninth in 16:44.91 and Truman Thompson finished 11th in a time of 17:05.67.
Christian Montover led Liberty High placing 13th in a time of 17:12.31 while Logan Nelson was 19th in 17:32.33.
