West High senior Alex McKane continued his exceptional season by cruising to the Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division title on Thursday at Kickers Soccer Complex in Iowa City.

The win by McKane completed the MVC individual title sweep for the senior standout who won the MVC Super Meet title last Thursday in Waterloo.

McKane won the title in 15:59 on Thursday 24 seconds in front of runner-up Derek Leicht of Dubuque Hempstead.

The win by McKane helped West High to a runner-up finish in the team standings with 42 points.

Class 4A fourth-ranked Dubuque Hempstead won the team title with 30 points followed by West High and Cedar Rapids Kennedy was third with 70 points.

Seth Cheney joined McKane in the top five finishing fifth in a time of 17:03 while Michael Lee was eighth in 17:36 and Moustafa Tiea was 12^th for the Trojans in a time of 17:56.

Asher Overholt finished 16^th for West High in 18:07.
