Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Alexa Aldrich-Ingram
Former City High standout and current Grandview senior Alexa Aldrich-Ingram had a team-high 14 kills in a sweep of Missouri Valley on Friday.
A 5-foot-8 hitter, Aldrich-Ingram has had 40 kills in her last four matches while helping the Vikings to a 13-10 record and a 9-2 mark in Heart of America Conference play.
Reagan Steigleder
Former West High all-stater and current Northwestern senior midfielder Regan Steigleder was named Big Ten co-offensive player of the week last week after scoring a pair of game winning goals in a week.
Steigleder scored on a header in the 89th minute to give Northwestern a 1-0 win over Illinois and converted a penalty kick for the go-ahead goal in a 2-1 win over Nebraska two days later.
Steigleder ranks fourth in Northwestern history appearing in 81 games in her career and ranks second on the team with three goals this season helping the Wildcats to a 7-5-1 record.
Billy Friis
West Branch graduate and current Central College senior tight end Billy Friis caught a five-yard touchdown pass on Saturday in a 55-21 win over Coe College in Cedar Rapids.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Friis has caught six passes for 81 yard and two touchdowns this season while helping the Dutch to a 6-0 record including a 4-0 mark in American Rivers Conference play.
