West High senior Alex McKane pulled away from Ford Washburn to win the individual title at the Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet on Thursday in a record-breaking performance.

It was Washburn and the Little Hawks that walked away with the team title.

McKane continued an outstanding season claiming the Super Meet individual title in impressive fashion on Thursday winning in a course record time of 15:14.8.

Washburn was runner-up in 15:29.9 as Class 4A fourth-ranked City High edged third-ranked Dubuque Hempstead by a single point for the team title at Irv Warren Golf Course in Waterloo.

City High had a trio of runners in the top 12 and finished with 58 points to edge Dubuque Hempstead by a single point while sixth-ranked Cedar Falls was third with 82.

No. 13 Cedar Rapids Prairie finished fourth with 147 points while No. 11 Liberty High was fifth with 158 and No. 14 West High was sixth with 169.

It was the balance of the City High lineup that carried the day as the Little Hawks put five runners in the top 19.

Ammon Smith was eighth in 16:06.6, Truman Thompson was 12^th in 16:09.6 while Noah Carey was 17^th in 16:15.9 and Elliot Dunnwald was 19^th in 16:19.2.

Seth Cheney joined McKane in the top 10 for West High placing 10^th in a time of 16:08.6.

Liberty High had four runners in the top 36 led by sophomore Aidan Decker who finished 21^st in a time of 16:28.7.

Christian Montover was 27^th in 16:45.3 while Jordan Robinson was 31^st in 16:49.5 and Logan Nelson was 36^th in 17:05.7.
