One of the anchors of the City High offensive line has found his future football home.
City High senior offensive tackle Ethan Goodrich announced his commitment to the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday with a post on social media.
“To my parents who have been my biggest supporters, thank you,” Goodrich wrote on Twitter. “To Ryan McKim, Mitch Moore and the rest of the City High football staff, than you for showing me my full potential. To my teammates for pushing me to get better every single day, thank you. To my old head coach and offensive line coach Dan Sabers, I never would have gotten started on this path without you showing me I could. Thank you. With that being said I would like to announce my commitment to the University of St. Thomas.”
A three-year starter on the City High offensive line the 6-foot-5, 265-pound Goodrich has helped the Little Hawks get off to a 5-0 start this season and rise to third in the Class 5A Associated Press Poll.
Goodrich has paved the way for a City High offense that is averaging 45.8 points and 384 total yards per game this season including 257 rushing yards per game.
The University of St. Thomas is in its first season playing Division I football and is a member of the FCS-level Pioneer Football League.
The Tommies are 2-1 this season.
