Boys Cross Country Roundup: Kabela Wins Third Consecutive Individual Title at Williamsburg Invite

Another race, another win for Solon sophomore Brick Kabela.
Kabela won the individual title at the Williamsburg Invitational on Tuesday at the Williamsburg Recreation Center to extend his personal winning streak to three consecutive meets.
The individual title by Kabela and a fifth-place finish from senior Gabe Hinman helped Class 3A seventh-ranked Solon to a team runner-up finish at the 10-team meet.
Class 2A top-ranked Danville/New London won the team title with 53 points while Solon was second with 65 and 2A second-ranked Tipton was third with 73.
Class 3A sixth-ranked Pella was fourth with 73 points and 2A third-ranked Williamsburg was fifth with 89 points in a strong field.
Kabela won individual titles last week at Solon’s home invitational on Monday and the Anamosa Invitational on Saturday.
On Tuesday Kabela broke the tape for the third time in nine days winning in a time of 16:52.5.
Kabela finished more than 12 seconds in front of runner-up Ty Carr of Danville/New London who finished in 17:05.
Hinman was fifth in a time of 17:26.5 and Solon got an 18th place finish from Ty Becicka in 18:31.5 while Grant Bumsted with 19th in 18:33.9.
