Girls Cross Country Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Continues Strong Season With Runner-up Finish at Home Meet

Clear Creek Amana continued its strong season with a runner-up team finish at its own Clipper Cross Country Classic on Monday at Kickers Soccer Complex in Iowa City.
The Clippers had three runners finish in the top 10 led by sisters Haidyn and Kira Barker while finishing second to Class 2A top-ranked Mid-Prairie in the team standings.
Mid-Prairie had the top six individual finishers and won the team title with 15 points while Class 3A No. 16 Clear Creek Amana was second with 52.
1A No. 15 Montezuma was third with 98 followed by South Tama with 114 and Cedar Rapids Xavier with 135.
Haidyn Barker placed seventh in a time of 22:04.55 to lead the Clippers while Kira Barker was eighth in 22:31.22 and Kalin Rotzoll was ninth in 22:34.69.
Freshman Sara Kinzenbaw was 15th overall in a time of 23:32.65 while Avery Allan was 17th in 23:44.87.
Danielle Hostetler of Mid-Prairie won the individual title in a time of 19:33.72 which was more than a minute faster than teammate Sydney Yoder who was runner-up in 20:51.55.
