Girls Cross Country Roundup: Top-ranked Solon Wins Title at Anamosa Invitational

Class 3A top-ranked Solon closed out an impressive week with its second Invitational title in six days on Saturday winning the team title at the 46th annual Anamosa Invitational at the Anamosa Middle School.
Solon put five runners in the top 10 among team scorers and cruised to the team title with 32 points outdistancing runner-up and Class 2A third-ranked Monticello by 27.
Class 2A fourth-ranked Tipton was third with 84 points followed by Class 1A top-ranked South Winneshiek with 119 and Davenport Assumption with 131.
Kayla Young led Solon placing fourth overall in a time of 20:05 while Gracie Federspiel was sixth in 20:12 and Emma Bock was seventh in 20:13.
Anna Quillin placed ninth in 20:26 while Lydia Hogan was 11th in 20:32 and Kaia Holtkamp was 16th in 20:59.
