West Branch and City High both entered the volleyball rankings this week when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its most recent set of rankings on Thursday.

City High (11-6) swept No. 12 Cedar Rapids Prairie on Tuesday and made its season debut in the Class 5A rankings on Thursday. Liberty High (17-3) remained atop the Class 5A rankings while West High (10-6) dropped one spot to No. 11 in the 5A rankings.

West Branch (13-2) had a nine-match winning streak snapped with a loss to 3A fourth-ranked West Liberty on Tuesday but made its season debut at No. 12 in the 2A rankings on Thursday.

Clear Creek Amana (12-5) held its spot at ninth in the Class 4A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Western Dubuque (4A), West Delaware (3A), Dike-New Hartford (2A) and Burlington Notre Dame (1A).
