Your Prep Sports 

A trio of Your Prep Sports area teams moved up in the new set of girls cross country rankings released by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

West High jumped up four spots and Solon and City High each climbed three spots in the most recent rankings released on Tuesday.

City High rose three spots to No. 12 in the Class 4A rankings while West High jumped four spots to No. 16 in Class 4A.

Solon is the highest ranked area team, jumping three spots to second in the Class 3A rankings. The Spartans trail only top-ranked Sioux City Heelan in 3A.

Regina dropped one spot to fifth in the Class 1A rankings, coming in behind top-ranked South Winneshiek, Hudson, Pekin and Logan-Magnolia.

Other top-ranked teams this week are Mid-Prairie (2A) and Dubuque Hempstead (4A).
