Boys Cross Country Roundup: Kabela, Hinman First First and Second as Solon Wins Team Title at Tipton

Brick Kabela and Gabe Hinman finished first and second to lift Class 3A No. 12 Solo to the team title at the Tipton Invitational on Tuesday at Tipton City Park.
Kabela won the individual title in 17:41 finishing 10 seconds in front of his teammate Hinman as Solon put all five runners in the top 15.
Michael Yeomans was sixth in 18:18, Ty Becicka was 10th in 19:00 and Ethan McLaughlin was 15th in 19:27 as Class 3A No. 12 Solon won the team title with 34 points.
Class 2A third-ranked Tipton was runner-up with 44 points while 1A ninth-ranked Regina was third with 110 points.
Class 1A No. 18 Cascade was fourth with 134 and 1A fifth-ranked Bellevue was fifth with 140.
Regina sophomore Aidan O’Neil finished third overall, just seven seconds off the runner-up pace of Hinman in a time of 17:58.
Sam Welter placed 24th in a time of 20:04, Joe Maley was 26th in 20:29 and Adam Boblenz was 27th in 20:31 for the Regals.
