Class 5A top-ranked Liberty High went 3-2 on Saturday at the Marj White Classic at West Des Moines Valley.

Liberty High defeated Waukee (21-12, 21-9), 5A No. 11 West Des Moines Dowling (16-21, 21-16, 21-19) and Waukee Northwest (21-9, 21-17).

The Lightning dropped a pair of tight matches to second-ranked West Des Moines Valley (21-18, 21-18) and third-ranked Ankeny (21-19, 20-22, 15-13).

Liberty High is now 9-3 on the season.

Cassidy Hartman had 47 kills in five matches on Saturday to lead the Lightning while Shelby Kimm added 28 kills and Asta Hildebrand had 16 kills.

Sam Harvey added 15 kills for Liberty High and Lilah VanScoyoc had 14 kills and six blocks.

Lauren Ramspott had a team-high seven blocks to lead Liberty High while Gabbie Schroeder led the Lightning with 66 digs and had two ace serves.

Hartman had three ace serves and 49 digs while Kimm had 38 digs and five blocks.

Mariah Rollins had 70 assists and 23 digs and Hildebrand had 44 assists and 13 digs.
