Five Your Prep Sports area girls cross country teams all held their spots in the first rankings of the season released by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches on Tuesday.

City High remained No. 15, Liberty High No. 16 and West High No. 20 in the Class 4A rankings while Solon and Regina remained in the top five in Class 3A and 1A.

Solon held steady at fifth in the 3A rankings while Regina is fourth in Class 1A.

Top-ranked teams in the rankings are Dubuque Hempstead (4A), Ballard (3A), Mid-Prairie (2A) and South Winneshiek (1A).
