City High opened the season with a road win at Linn-Mar defeating the Lions 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 26-24 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division match in Marion.

Claire Ernst led City High with 12 kills and two ace blocks while Ruby McDonough added eight kills.

Makayla Ribble had 38 assists and two ace serves for the Little Hawks.
