Marcus Morgan wrapped up an impressive prep athletic career last month.

On Tuesday the West High four-sport standout received one more accolade in a career already filled with honors.

Morgan earned all-state honors from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association on Tuesday when the organization released its postseason honors for the 2021 season.

An Iowa recruit, Morgan earned second-team Class 4A honors as a pitcher following a senior season in which he ranked second in 4A in strikeouts while posting a 4-2 record and 1.48 ERA.

Morgan held opponents to a .173 batting average while posting a .94 WHIP and striking out 108.

The hard throwing righthander allowed just 36 hits and 17 walks in 56 2/3 innings.

Morgan also led West High in nine offensive categories including batting average and home runs in an all-around stellar senior season in which he helped the Trojans to a 22-15 record.

A center fielder when not on the mound, Morgan hit .396 with six home runs, 48 RBI and had a .517 on-base and .658 slugging percentage.
