Substate Baseball Roundup: Solon Routs Carlisle To Advance to Substate Final

Brayden Rickertsen tossed a two-hitter and Cade Chapman had three doubles as Class 3A seventh-ranked Solon advanced to the substate finals with a 11-1 five-inning win over Carlisle on Monday in Solon.
Rickertsen struck out six in a five-inning complete game as Solon (29-11) advanced to the Class 3A, Substate 5 title game while Carlisle closed the season 16-20.
Solon will host fourth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier (25-12) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for a spot in the state tournament.
Solon had six doubles on Monday led by Chapman who went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Jackson Ryan had a double, scored two runs and drove in a run and Ben Cuisck had a hit, scored twice and drove in a run.
Brady Jeworrek went 1-for-2 with three runs and an RBI and Kinnick Pusteoska had a double and drove in two runs.
Gehrig Turner doubled and drove in a run while Blake Timmons scored a run and Brett White drove in a run.
