Baseball Roundup: Solon Splits WAMAC Doubleheader at Maquoketa

Class 3A fourth-ranked Solon split a WAMAC doubleheader with Maquoketa on Thursday at Marlowe Athletic Complex in Maquoketa.
Solon won the opener 15-2 in five innings and Maquoketa rallied for a 4-3 win in the nightcap.
Maquoketa moved to 19-14 on the season and 14-10 in WAMAC play while Solon now sits at 25-11 and 20-4 in conference games.
Blake Timmons earned the win in the opener allowing two runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking one.
Kinnick Pusteoska went 3-for-4 with a home run and seven RBI and Brett White was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Gehrig Turner had two hits and dove in a run and Jackson Ryan went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Brady Jeworrek had a double, scored two runs and drove in a run and Ben Cusick doubled, scored a run and drove in a run.
Brayden Rickertsen took the loss in the nightcap allowing four runs on two hits, walking eight and striking out seven.
Jeworrek and Carson Shive each had two hits while Gehrig Turner had two hits and scored two runs.
Brett White had a hit and scored a run and Drew Turner drove in a run.
