Solon climbed to fourth in the Class 3A in the latest rankings released by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association on Monday.

The Spartans split a doubleheader with Class 3A top-ranked Marion on Friday and climbed two spots to sixth on Monday to reach their highest ranking of the season.

Solon (22-8) hosts Vinton-Shellsburg on Monday.

City High (24-10) dropped three spots to No. 10 in the latest Class 4A rankings.

Top ranked teams in this week’s rankings are Pleasant Valley (4A), Marion (3A), Roland-Story (2A) and Mason City Newman (1A).
