Class 3A second-ranked Mount Vernon swept Clear Creek Amana in a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional doubleheader on Wednesday in Oxford.
Mount Vernon won the opener 1-0 and took the nightcap 6-4 while improving to 29-4 on the season and 20-2 in WAMAC conference play.
Class 4A eighth-ranked Clear Creek Amana dropped to 27-8 on the year and 18-6 in conference games with the losses.
Mount Vernon scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning in game one on an RBI triple by Addison Gookin.
Clear Creek Amana could muster just two hits off Mount Vernon starter Jenna Sprague as a pair of Gabrielle Bedford doubles accounted for all the Clipper offense.
