Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana and Solon Split Top-10 Doubleheader

Clear Creek Amana and Solon split a WAMAC Conference doubleheader showdown between top-10 teams on Monday in Solon.
Class 3A No. 10 Solon won the opener 3-0 and 4A eighth-ranked Clear Creek Amana rallied for a 3-2 win in the nightcap to salvage the split.
The Clippers moved to 27-6 on the season and 18-4 in WAMAC play while Solon sits at 21-9 on the year and 15-7 in conference play with the split.
Kendall Jensen tossed a three-hit shutout in the opener striking out one without issuing a walk.
Jensen allowed just a trio of singles in the game one win as the Clippers were shutout for just the second time this season.
Monet Barnhouse homered for Solon while Camryn Keith doubled and scored a run and Jada Buffington had a hit and drove in a run for the Spartans.
Ashley Webb took the loss for Clear Creek Amana allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits while striking out six.
Katelyn LeFleur had a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning as Clear Creek Amana rallied for a 3-2 win in the nightcap.
LeFleur drove in all three Clipper runs in game two as Avery Allan had a double and scored twice and Emma Mathis had a hit and scored a run.
Webb picked up the win allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out four.
Hilary Wilson had two hits and scored a run while Izzy Frees and Sarah Heick each had a hit and drove in a run for Solon.
Frees took the loss, allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits. She struck out two and walked three.
