Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Goes 2-0 On Opening Day of Home Tournament

Clear Creek Amana went 2-0 on Friday on the opening day of its own tournament in Oxford defeating Class 4A seventh-ranked Carlisle 5-2 and downing West Branch 11-1.
Class 4A No. 8 Clear Creek Amana improved to 26-5 on the season with the back-to-back wins and is scheduled to face 3A ninth-ranked West Liberty on Saturday in its tournament finale at 4:15 p.m.
Ellie Crow slugged a first-inning grand slam as Clear Creek Amana bolted to a 5-0 win in its win over Carlisle (20-9).
That was enough cushion for Ashley Webb who earned the win allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five and walking two.
Bailey Olerich had two hits and scored a run while Avery Allan had two hits including a double for the Clippers.
Olivia Miller and Gabrielle Bedford each had hits and scored run.
Webb picked up the win against West Branch allowing just one unearned run in five innings while striking out eight.
Emma Mathis went 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBI and Olerich had two hits and drove in two runs.
Olivia Miller had a hit and scored two runs while Webb had a hit and drove in two runs against the Bears.
Allan had a hit and an RBI and Ella Miller had a hit and scored a run.
Nicki Henson had a hit and scored a run for West Branch while Iva Senio had a hit and Lexi Klinkkammer had a hit and an RBI.
