Class 3A sixth-ranked Solon had a seven-game winning streak halted with a 7-4 loss to Davenport Assumption in a non-conference top-10 matchup on Wednesday in Solon.

Ninth-ranked Assumption used a four-run fifth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit while improving to 16-9 on the season while Solon dropped to 16-7.

Junior J.J. Stratman picked up the win for Assumption striking out nine while allowing four runs on four hits in six innings.

Jacob Smith took the loss for the Spartans allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Jackson Ryan went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI for Solon while Ben Cusick and Carson Shive each had a hit and scored a run.

Blake Timmons scored a run and drove in a run for Solon.
