Clear Creek Amana and Solon are two of the hottest softball teams anywhere in the state regardless of class.

On Thursday both of those teams saw their recent success pay off in the form of a jump in the rankings.

Clear Creek Amana and Solon each jumped into the top 10 in their respective classes on Thursday when the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released its most recent set of rankings.

Solon (18-5) has won 11 in a row and jumped two spots to eighth in the Class 3A rankings.

Clear Creek Amana (18-3) has won 18 of its last 19 games and moved up four spots this week to ninth in the 4A rankings.

City High (13-5) remained seventh in the Class 5A rankings while Liberty High (16-5) dropped one spot to ninth.

Top-ranked teams this week are Fort Dodge (5A), Winterset (4A), Davenport Assumption (3A), North Linn (2A) and Newell-Fonda (1A).
