Baseball Roundup: Regina Splits RVC Doubleheader With West Liberty

Regina split a River Valley Conference South Division doubleheader with West Liberty on Monday in Iowa City.
West Liberty won the opener 6-2 before Regina came back to win the nightcap 12-8 as the Regals moved to 6-7 on the season and 6-5 in RVC play.
The Comets are now 6-8 on the season and 6-5 in conference play.
Danny Molony took the loss for Regina in game one allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out three and walking one in five innings.
Danny Gavin went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Regina while Lucas Moore and Sean Nugent each added singles and Kyle Schooley scored a run.
Caleb Wulf earned the victory for West Liberty striking out 13 in a complete-game four-hitter.
Regina hammered 10 hits in the nightcap led by Nugent, Gavin, Jack Clark and Declan McCoy with two hits each.
Gavin, McCoy and Nugent each had an RBI and scored a run, Clark drove in two and scored a run.
Cameron Lehman had a hit and drove in two runs while Lucas Moore had a hit and scored two runs.
Levi Quinlan scored two runs for the Regals.
