Clear Creek Amana Seniors Grafft and Austin Earn First-Team All-State Honors from Iowa Girls Coaches Association

One of the best seasons in Clear Creek Amana history continues to produce impressive individual honors for the Clippers.
Clear Creek Amana seniors Ellen Austin and Peyton Grafft both earned first-team all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association on Monday after helping the Clippers to a 15-3 record and a spot in the Class 2A regional finals.
Austin and Grafft highlight a group of four Your Prep Sports area players to earn all-state honors from the IGCA.
West High junior Makenna Vonderhaar was a second-team selection in Class 3A while Liberty High senior Elise Hermiston was a second-team pick in Class 2A.
Austin and Grafft were key factors in helping Clear Creek Amana post one of the most successful seasons in program history.
A stalwart in the Clippers defensive back line, Grafft scored two goals and added six assists for Clear Creek Amana.
Austin scored 10 goals and had a team-high 20 assists from her spot in the midfield.
Hermiston helped Liberty High post its most successful season ever, scoring seven goals and adding a team-high 12 assists as the Lighting went 11-7 and advanced to a regional final for the first time in program history.
