Clear Creek Amana remained red-hot stretching its winning streak to eight with a WAMAC West Division double-header sweep of Class 4A fifth-ranked Benton Community on Monday in Van Horne.

The Clippers won the opener 8-2 and took the nightcap 6-5 in eight innings to improve to 8-2 on the season and 6-2 in conference play with its eighth consecutive win.

Benton Community dropped to 6-2 on the season and 4-2 in WAMAC play.

Clear Creek Amana scored eight unanswered runs after falling into an early 2-0 deficit in the opener.

Ashley Webb picked up the win in the circle holding the Bobcats to just two unearned runs on three hits while striking out 11 and not walking a batter.

Reese Stockman went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI to lead the Clippers while Bailey Olerich went 2-for-4 with a double and scored two runs.

Gabrille Bedford homered while Katelyn LeFleur had a double and drove in a run and Avery Allan had a hit and drove in a run.

Benton Community forced extra innings with four runs in the seventh inning of the nightcap but Clear Creek Amana answered by scoring the go ahead run in the top of the eighth.

Webb earned the win, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out six in four innings of relief.

Freshman Bliss Beck started and allowed one unearned run on one hits while striking out five in four innings.

Bedford went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI and Ellie Crow homered in the win.

Emma Mathis had two hits and scored a run, Stockman had a hit and scored a run and Allan was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

Olivia Miller went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
