Solon Senior Yetley Named WAMAC East Division Player of the Year

Gabe Yetley was among the most productive offensive players in all of Class 1A this season.
On Monday the Solon senior was recognized for his efforts.
Yetley was named the WAMAC East Division player of the year when the conference announced its postseason honors.
Yetley joined junior Dillon Bruck on the East Division first team and was one of six Spartans to be honored by the conference after Solon went 13-6 and advanced to the substate finals where it fell to Regina in penalty kicks.
A senior forward, Yetley led the WAMAC East Division in both goals (25) and total points (63) and was second among all WAMAC players and 12th in Class 1A in both categories.
Yetley had a team-high 12 assists to go with his 25 goals.
Bruck earned first-team honors after scoring 20 goals and adding five assists.
Juniors William Wittich and Nate Ferguson were both second-team selections for the Spartans.
Wittich had five goals and six assists and Ferguson had four assists.
Juniors Owen Erusha and Logan Sieverding were both honorable mention picks for Solon.
Clear Creek Amana put three players on the West Division first team after posting a 12-5 record.
Seniors Wes Quinlan and Taylor Christensen and junior Gunther Sandersfeld all earned first-team honors for the Clippers.
Christensen led the Clippers with 14 goals and had two assists while Quinlan had two assists and a goal.
Sandersfeld scored a goal and had two assists.
Senior Harrison Cory earned second-team honors in the West Division after leading Clear Creek Amana with seven assists.
Seniors Jackson Rosenberg and Ben George were both honorable mention honorees.
