Baseball Roundup: Solon Sweeps Williamsburg in WAMAC Doubleheader

Solon rallied for a win in the opener and then saw its offense explode in the nightcap as the Spartans swept a WAMAC conference doubleheader from Williamsburg on Thursday in Solon.
The Spartans won the opener 6-5 in eight innings and took the night cap 20-2 in four innings while improving to 5-3 on the season.
Williamsburg dropped to 2-4 with the losses.
Solon used a four-run seventh inning to force extra innings in the opener and scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the eighth.
Western Stiegelmeyer earned the win in relief working a perfect eighth inning.
Brady Jeworrek allowed two runs on five hits in four innings and Parker Pentico threw two innings of scoreless relief.
Brett White had a triple and drove in three runs while Cade Chapman had a hit and drove in two runs.
Carson Shive had a hit and scored twice while Jackson Ryan, Blake Timmons and Kinnick Pusteoska each had a hit and scored a run.
Solon exploded for 20 runs in the nightcap getting three hits from White who had a triple, scored three times and drove in six runs in the nightcap.
Ryan was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI, Shive had a hit, drove in a run and scored twice and Gehrig Turner was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Jeworrek had a hit, drove in two runs and scored twice and Timmons had two RBI and scored three runs.
Will Noonan picked up in the win in game two allowing two runs on five hits in a four-inning complete game.
