Class 4A No. 11 Benton Community swept a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional doubleheader from Solon in Van Horne on Tuesday winning the opener 6-3 and taking the nightcap 2-1.

Solon dropped to 6-2 on the season while Benton Community improved to 5-0.

Camryn Keith went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run as Solon racked up 11 hits in the opener.

Carly Ellison went 2-for-4 with a homer and Hilary Wilson was 2-for-4 with a double.

Ava Stebral doubled and scored a run and Sarah Heick had a hit and walked twice.

Ellison took the loss for Solon in the opener allowing six runs on 13 hits while striking out one and walking three in six innings.

Solon had seven hits but could only push across one run in the nightcap.

Wilson went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run and Heick was 2-for-3 with a double.

Monet Barnhouse had two hits while Keith drove in a run.

Kendall Jensen took the loss allowing two unearned runs on eight hits while striking out two.
