Baseball Roundup: Secrist, Skelley Homer as Liberty High Wins Second Straight

Liberty High continued its hot offensive start to the season on Wednesday hammering 12 hits and scoring at least eight runs for the third consecutive game in a 15-8 non-conference win over North Scott in Eldridge.
Keian Secrist and Boyd Skelley each homered and Liberty High broke open the game with an eight-run third inning while improving to 2-1 on the season.
Shane Alberts picked up the win allowing one run on two hits 1 2/3 strong innings of relief while Luke Bollier worked a scoreless seventh inning.
Ian Gates went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI while Skelley and Noah Kirk each drove in two runs and scored twice.
Cody Schroeder went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run and Jack Funke was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Secrist went 1-for-2 with a home run, walked three times and scored twice.
