Girls Soccer Roundup: No. 15 Solon Rolls Past Central Lee in Postseason Opener

There is no such thing as a bad time to be scoring goals in bunches.
However the Solon girls soccer team may have just picked the best of all times turn shift their offensive production into high gear.
Class 1A No. 15 Solon scored eight goals for the second time in its past three matches on Wednesday opening the postseason with an 8-0 win over Central Lee in a Substate 8 quarterfinal at Spartan Stadium.
The win was the third straight and eighth in the last nine matches for Solon (13-5) which will host Mid-Prairie (11-5) in the Region 8 semifinals on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Mid-Prairie defeated Columbus 10-0 in a Region 8 quarterfinal on Wednesday.
Sophomore Morgan Link scored four goals and Stella Mesch and Gabby Knipper each had two for Solon.
Link and Sydney Rissman each had assists for Solon in the win.
Central Lee closed the season at 4-8.
