Ninth-ranked Fort Madison raced to a 4-0 halftime lead on its way to a 5-1 win over No. 13 Clear Creek Amana in a Class 2A, Substate 5 semifinal on Monday in Fort Madison.

Fort Madison improved to 16-1 on the season and will face fourth-ranked Pella (14-4) in the substate title game on Wednesday while Clear Creek Amana closed the season 12-5.

Xander Wellman had three goals and an assist for Fort Madison while Will Larson and Leif Boeding each had a goal.

Mitchell Pothitakis had three assists for Fort Madison.
