The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Hannah Bormann
Clear Creek Amana graduate and Drake University senior Hannah Bormann earned a pair of honors from the United Soccer Coaches last week earning all-region and scholar all-region honors.
Borman was a third-team all-midwest regional selection after leading Drake in shots on goal and finishing seven in the Missouri Valley Conference in total shots with 16.
She finished her collegiate career with seven goals including five game winners and 20 total points.
Bormann was also named to the USC scholar all-region team after posting a 3.57 GPA.
Adara Opiola
West High graduate and Northern Iowa senior Adara Opiola earned scholar athlete honors from the Missouri Valley Conference last week.
A senior outfield and designated player, Opiola was named a first-team scholar athlete after posting a 4.0 GPA in graduate school while helping the Panthers reach the NCAA tournament.
Opiola hit .306 with two home runs and 24 RBI this season while helping Northern Iowa reach the NCAA tournament where it went 1-2 last weekend.
Izaya Fullard
West High graduate and current Iowa junior Izaya Fullard homered for the Hawkeyes in a 6-1 win over Northwestern on Friday in Evanston, Illinois.
On the season Fullard leads Iowa in batting average at .309 and has five home runs and 18 RBI while helping the Hawkeyes to a 23-18 record.
