Solon followed up an outstanding regular season with a strong start to the postseason on Friday.

The Spartans had two of the top three individual finishers and rolled to the team title at the Class 3A Sectional meet at the Washington Golf and Country Club in Washington.

Solon shot a 316 to claim the team title while Mount Pleasant was runner-up with a 353 and joined Solon in advancing to the 3A District Meet on May 20 at 10 a.m. at Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington.

Frank Haege Jr. fired a three-over-par 73 to earn medalist honors and Jack McCarty was third with a 77 to pace the Spartans.

Mac McCarty shot an 82 and Stetson McIlravy added an 84 to finish in the top ten for Solon.

Clear Creek Amana sophomore Zach McCarty shot an 80 to finish fourth and advance to the district meet as an individual qualifier.

The Clippers finished fourth as a team with a 362 as Jordan DeKoter shot a 90 and Ryan Navara shot a 91.
