Solon golfers accounted for half of the top eight finishers and the Spartans ran away with the team title at the WAMAC Conference East Division Meet on Monday at Pin Oak Pub and Links in Manchester.

Lucas TePoel earned runner-up medalist honors to lead four Spartans in the top eight as Solon shot a 164 as a team to finish nine strokes in front of team runner-up Mount Vernon.

Dyersville Beckman was third with a 174 followed by Marion with a 180 and Maquoketa with a 187.

TePoel fired a three-over par 39 and lost a five-hole playoff to individual champion Noah Nabb of Maquoketa.

Stetson McIlravy shot a 41 to finish sixth for the Spartans while Frank Haege Jr. and Jack McCarty each shot 42 while placing seventh and eighth respectively.

Brennan Heesch shot a 47 and Mac McCarty a 49 for the Spartans.
