Pettersen, Maurus Help Liberty High Claim First Ever Clash for the Club

The City High and West High football programs battle for the Boot trophy every fall and the volleyball teams at those schools play for the Spike.
City High and Liberty High have created their own rivalry on the grid iron complete with a traveling trophy.
On Monday the four girls golf teams in Iowa City began their own trophy tradition with the first ever Clash for the Club.
Led by individual medalist Bella Pettersen and runner-up Neeley Maurus Liberty High won the inaugural event, shooting a 389 on a warm and windy afternoon at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
Liberty High finished 31 strokes in front of runner-up West High while City High was third with a 453 and Regina was fourth with a 536.
Pettersen fired an even-par 36 on the back nine to earn medalist honors with an 80 while Maurus was six strokes back with an 86 after closing with a 40 on the back nine.
West High was led by Leigha Pacha who was third with a 91 and Rylee Goodfellow who placed fourth with a 102.
Lucy Schmidt shot a 104 to place fifth for West High as the Trojans put three golfers in the top five.
Brianna Butterfield shot a 105 to place sixth and Ashley Nadeau was 10th with a 118 for Liberty High.
Allison Ribble fired a 107 to pace City High with a seventh-place finish while teammate Anna Knoche was eighth with a 110 and Dani Moen was ninth with a 117 for the Little Hawks.
Josie Voss led Regina with a 123 while Leah Zimmerman shot a 130 and Alex Joss shot 139 for the Regals.
