Four Your Prep Sports area teams appeared in the initial girls soccer rankings of the season released on Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

City High (1-1) is ninth in Class 3A while West High (3-3) is number 13 in the first 3A rankings of the season.

One of only four remaining unbeaten teams in Class 2A, Clear Creek Amana (5-0) is eighth in the 2A rankings while Regina (4-1) is fifth in Class 1A.

Top-ranked teams in the first rankings of the season are Pleasant Valley (3A), Cedar Rapids Xavier (2A) and Davenport Assumption (1A).
