Once again on Saturday Solon showed it compete with some of the biggest and best track programs in Eastern Iowa.

Solon posted top-three finishes in 10 events on its way to a runner-up team finish at the Linn-Mar Clark Weaver Relays in Mar.

The Spartans finished with 112.5 points to place second behind host Linn-Mar which won the team title with 147 points.

Cedar Rapids Prairie was third with 77 followed by Western Dubuque with 77, Davenport Assumption with 76, Marion with 46 and West High with 41. Liberty High was 11^th with 23 points.

Solon won just one event, with the Spartans’ sprint medley relay team of Mia Stahle, Callie Levin, Sophia Stahle and Emma Bock winning in 1:51.7, but had runner-up finish in five other events while placing second as a team.

Makinley Levin was runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 16-10 ½ and Kaia Holtkamp cleared 4-10 to finish runner-up in the high jump.

Emma Bock was second in the 400 in 58.98 and the Spartans were second in the shuttle hurdle relay.

Ava Conrad was third in both the shot put and discus for Solon, Sophia Stahle was third in the 100 hurdles and Holtkamp was third in the 800.

Phoebe Burt finished runner-up in the discus with a toss of 116-11 to lead West High and also added a fourth-place finish in the shot put.

Teammate Arionnah Sonii was runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 37-9 for West High.
