Allie Laschanzky won the discus and finished runner-up in the shot put to help West Branch to a seventh-place team finish at the inaugural Lisbon Relays on Thursday in Lisbon.

Laschanzky won the discus with a toss of 100-11 for her first career event win and added a runner-up finish in the shot put with a toss of 32-0 ½.

The strong showing from Laschanzky highlighted a big day for the Bears in the field events as Sadie Smith placed fourth in the shot put and Sasha Koenig was sixth in the long jump.

West Branch racked up 58 team points to finish seventh while North Cedar won the team title with 146 points followed by host Lisbon with 101 and Alburnett with 93.5.

Nina Torkelson was third in the 1,500 for West Branch in a time of 6:07.24 and the Bears placed in the top five in five relays.
