In a season that already featured several strong performances Clear Creek Amana turned in perhaps its best outing yet on Thursday.

Clear Creek Amana won five events and added seven runner-up finishes while posting 16 total top-three performances on its way to winning the team title at the Denny White Relays in Mount Pleasant.

Alex Figueroa won the 100 and 200 and the Clippers set a school record while winning the distance medley relay while racking up 162 points to hold off runner-up Liberty High for the team title.

Liberty High finished with 154 points to easily outdistance third-place Washington by 56 while West Burlington Notre Dame was fourth with 89 and Mount Pleasant was fifth with 82.

Figueroa remained unbeaten in individual events this season winning the 100 in 11.33 and taking the 200 in 23.23.

Harrison Rosenberg won the 110 hurdles in 15.13 and Gavin Zillyette won the 400 hurdles in a time of 58.35 for the Clippers.

The distance medley relay team of Rosenberg, Gage Freeman, Zillyette and Tom Johnson won in a school-record time of 3:37.43.

Ben Swails was runner-up in the long jump, Freeman was second to Figueroa in the 200 and Cash Jensen was runner-up in the 400.

Brandon Barker was second in the 3,200 and third in the 1,600 while Clear Creek Amana was runner-up in the shuttle hurdle, 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Liberty High finished first and second in both the 800 and 1,600.

Jack Kinzer won the 800 in a time of 1:57.79 while teammate Gavin Keeney was second in 1:58.54.

Bowen Gryp won the 1,600 in 4:28.65 and was followed by teammate Christian Montover in 4:40.35.

The Liberty High shuttle hurdle relay team of Luke Thompson, Daqwan Sanders, Beau Miller, and Griffin Kraft won in 1:03.46 while Michael Miller, Luke Meyers, Brody Fishman and Ben O’Connor won the 4×100 in 43.81.

The Liberty High 4×200 team of Beau Miller, Meyers, Evan Chandler and Gryp won in 1:34.07.
