Girls Soccer Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Stays Unbeaten With Win Over Benton Community

The strong start to a busy week for the Clear Creek Amana girls soccer team continued on Tuesday as the Clippers picked up their second win over an unbeaten team in as many days.
Lauren Riggle scored three first-half goals and Clear Creek Amana remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-1 win over Benton Community in a WAMAC West Division contest in Tiffin.
Riggle upped her team-leading goal total to six with the three goals on Tuesday and added an assist on a goal by sophomore Leah Evans that put the game out of reach in the second half.
Clear Creek Amana improved to 3-0 with the while Benton Community dropped to 2-1.
Senior keeper Schmidt made a pair of saves and teamed with senior center back Peyton Grafft to hold the Bobcats to one goal.
The win came after Clear Creek Amana downed Marion 4-1 on Monday and sets up another matchup of unbeaten opponents on Friday when the Clippers host Vinton-Shellsburg (3-0).
