Boys Golf Roundup: Solon and Clear Creek Amana Impress in Season-Opener Triangulars

Clear Creek Amana and Solon each opened the season by winning WAMAC Conference triangular meets on Thursday afternoon.
Solon had three players shoot 40 or better while easily defeating Center Point-Urbana and Marion in a WAMAC triangular at Gardner Golf Course in Marion.
Mac McCarty and Jack McCarty each fired a 39 while Frank Haege Jr. shot a 40 as Solon finished with a 160 to finish 26 strokes in front of Center Point-Urbana.
Lucas TePoel added a 42 as all six Spartans shot 45 or better.
Clear Creek Amana shot a 179 to finish in front of Williamsburg and Benton Community in a WAMAC West Division triangular at Amana Colonies Golf Course.
Williamsburg was runner-up with a 190 and Benton Community shot a 205.
Zach McCarty fired a 40 to lead Clear Creek Amana and earn individual medalist honors while Bryce Yearian of Williamsburg was one stroke back with a 41.
